The Road Not Taken

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long as I stood
And looked down one as fa as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads onto way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence;
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I---
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Why did the chicken really cross the road? Read it here.

Well, you know how these surveys work. Ask a simple question and you sure get loads of answers and advice. For all those people who have nothing better to do, like me :), heres a small survey question and the answers from different famous people.

Why did Chicken Crossed the Road?

GANDHI: All chickens should peacefully resist by crossing the road.

AZHARUDDIN: "I am totally innocent, you know, I'm unnecessarily being dragged into this, you know, because I'm from the minority..... I neither know the chicken nor the road, you know...."

ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross roads.

SADDAM HUSSEIN: This was an unprovoked act of rebellion and we were quite justified in dropping 50 tons of nerve gas on it.

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.: I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads without having their motives called into question.

MOSES : And God came down from the Heavens, and He said unto the chicken, "Thou shalt cross the road." And the chicken crossed the road, and there was much rejoicing.

BILL GATES: The newly released Chicken 2003, will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook.

Ahem... what??? They would sound like that anyway. ha ha ha...

Eragon- The Game.

I got done playing a game based on the movie Eragon which in turn is based on the first book of the inheritance trilogy, written by Christopher Paolini. The game, released in the November of 2006, is a third-person combat game with a few occasional episodes where we get to ride Saphira, the dragon.

The game is easy to play and the combat system is hassle free. The levels are easy to cross and a average gamer could easily finish the game in 6-8 hours based on his speed and usage of in-game objects and magic. The game's storyline is poor and can't be expected to be entertaining for long. The levels involve loads of fighting and maneuvering which are not too difficult.

Check this video I found in YouTube :

For the everyday gamer this is not interesting fare. I'd rate this at being between 4-5/10. Hopefully the next installment shall show some promise.

We will rock you!

We will rock you. This song bought our school to its knees. We were a bunch of 20 people chanting the song to some awesome bench beating and did so even after our principal came in and tried to put a stop to it. We prided ourselves by being known as the 'Mavericks'. We were bad and sarcastic and we were bloody proud about it.
<-MAVERICKS->

Doing that thing you do - The Wonders.

During school, we'd sing some awesome old songs. The song, 'Doing that thing you do' by the Wonders was my personal favorite. Its one heck of a song to sing. Harsh would play the guitar while the rest of us sang with all our might. So, sit back, crank the volume up and swing to one heck of a song. This ones for all the Mavericks of RKV, Sainikpuri (2000-2002).

VeloCEty!!!

Meet my pals from Dell. Haven't gotten some in yet because I could not find the pics but will add them soon.

Meet Varun a.k.a. Cujo alias Doggie. He was my mentor and the coolest guy I've met in Dell. He was a walking encyclopedia on music and technology. Apart from ogling at his chick( ;) ) , we'd have virtual arguments and brainstorming sessions on IM. The guy would just sit and drown into Wikipedia and just go on reading. I guess thats where I got my reading habit. Never met anyone more fun than him. Remember a cool incident. After having a party, Vidyut took him to an auto ( he was sloshed) after helping him cross the road. This bugger turns around and tells him, " Dude, whos gonna help you cross the road? Let me come." Needless to say, Vid gave him a nice whack and made him sit in the auto. Laziest bum I've met (beats me hollow.) and has some crazy and meaningful ideas spewing out.
Now, we have Ananya 'Brain' Neelakantam. He ranks among the smartest people I've ever met. When he first came in, people thought he was a girl and many (read Dill! ) were sorely disappointed. He'd never open his mouth in meetings and when he would he'd have people squirming for shelter. Ex: During training some senior area manager asked him, " Why Dell?" and pat came the reply, "Why not Dell?". Hmm.. poor guy didn't know what to say. I think this guy is a genius in his own way.

Meet Solomon mama. This one is a silent firecracker. You should be bloody careful about what you'd say about him. His return comment could make you feel like a load of crap. Apart from browsing through break.com pages and sifting through matrimonials, he'd keep a watch on who was doing what( on Avaya ). Smart bugger. Turns out he's still in Dell ( made of tougher material). this guy used to watch all of our backs. Well, Dell's lucky to have him.

Audience!!! Please meet 'Panchesh'. He is known in the real world as Bapi. We'd just spend all our time in the cab imagining our movie plans and deciding how many actresses we'd want and what their role would be (lol). The bloke looks young but (trade secret) is close to 26. We'd try our best getting our butts out of work as quickly as possible. In fact, we could have started an online course on 'How to hoodwink CCOD'. this dude rocks!

Awrite, next up is our very own Ghantesh! His sense of humor is the most unique I've ever seen. We'd laugh our brains out in the cab. He'd sit for hours on calls ( that we were not supposed to handle in the first place ) and deliver the best (!!) customer experience. he had unique names for all of us. I think he used to call me 'chick' which was what Bapi would call me. Listening to radio Mirchi was the only chanel we could listen to if he was in the cab.

This is Saif. Used to be my Tech Support Specialist. In our words, he was 'Safe' Asim. The poor fellow always worked beyond and more leaving him like this in sessions. An amazingly friendly guy who cares about everyone all the time ( except early morning when the bugger would never be ready on time; not to mention keeping the whole house up while he'd make calls to the transport ;) ). Loads of fun eh??

Meet Vidyut. This fellow is all for bashing up anyone he can get his hands on. The dude is crazy about bikes and speed, and not to mention food. Don't ever offer a treat. You'll end up burning a hole right through your pocket. This dude cares a lot for his pals and is loads of fun to hang out with. heres one crackpot I'll miss a lot.

Noogler

I've just joined Google. I've just gone through a major cultural jump. This place is like the college of our dreams. Everything is so much fun. But, what took me by surprise is that, in Google, work is fun. I have made some very good friends here. While I was in Dell, I had some real close pals like Cujo and Bapi and I was very apprehensive about joining this place.
Day 1 kickstarted with the induction where I met some real good pals. There were a few I made friends with very easily. People of different age groups and cultures, coming from different work environments and some who have never worked before gelling so well and like a team was a real cool sight.
Well, am just chillin' out and having a blast. Enjoying every moment of being a Noogler. Google Rocks!!!

Pulsar 220... le monstere!

Look what just made it the biking world....

The most awaited bike of all.... ladies and gentlemen... The Pulsar 220.. ENCORE!!!

The exhaust in the 220 is an awesome looking piece o' creation.
Yowza!

The digital dials in the front are the same and still have a cool snazzy look. They could however have tried changing the colors. The difference that is most noticeable is the position of the handle bars in the 220. They are at an angle and offer a more comfortable ride at higher speeds.

The front of the bike sports a unique sports bike look reminiscent of the Ducati range of bikes.

The lighting on this baby is very different from the older versions. No luck for those trying to dismiss this one as being similar to its predecessors.

Chris Benoit.

I'm a big fan of PRO wrestling. Like every other fan I was really shocked to hear of the demise of Chris Benoit. Apparently, Chris was unhappy and dissatisfied with the way things have been going for him. He murdered his family before hanging himself. More than anything, we ought to feel bad for his family. They didn't want any part of this. Stress takes its toll on yet another person.
As far as wrestling is concerned, Chris Benoit's name will be remembered for his athleticism and for his spirit.

It sure has been a while since I've posted. Well, lots of things have happened and lots of water has passed from under the bridge. One of the most notable things that have happened have been me purchasing a bike. After begging and pleading for a bike, finally had to buy one myself with my money. Bajaj Pulsar DTSi. Hows that for a sexy bike.

Paisa Phenko.... Tamasha Dekho....

Went and finally saw spiderman 3. What a disaster? What were they thinking? Y'know what? I read comics. I used to believe spiderman was a witty and playful character with a wacky comment to go with every move. But... Tobey Maguire, now thats a different story. The first two movies were proof enough that he could not act for nuts and now we have a dark and mean Tobey doing bar dancing( that seriously calls for rehab - not sure if it was for the director or for Tobey ).

If that was not enough, Venom came, you blink and he's gone. Was awkward that the Sandman got more footage in than Venom. Well, at the end of the day, its just a movie. And, that movie sucks. Really looking forward to seeing FF2 : Rise of the Silver Surfer. Sounds like a good movie, though we have gotten used to the Surfer being a hero now. Well, no harm in a history lesson.

Anyone out here saw Pathfinder?? Well, if you haven't, good for you. That was one movie no one knew which way it was headed. The movie is about a bunch of viking invaders who go in 2 ( yes, two) ships and try invading the red indians. As fate would have it, a viking lad had been deserted a few years ago there. He grows up to become a brave. So apparently, he is the only one who knows the weaknesses of the invaders ( their weight ) and leads them along a treacherous, edge-of-mountain trail promising them wealth and them starts pushing them down. hoo boy. It took me all my attention(maxed to the peak) and wikipedia to figure this out. The action scenes were terrible and on the whole, this movie is a major no-show.
Aaaah yes, coming to hindi films. Saw TaraRumPum. I know, I am brave. My girl forced me to watch it. We originally planned to watch Spiderman3. Frankly, I dunno which was worse. While Spiderman 3 boasted of some good graphics, hell, TRPum had teddy bears and monkeys ( Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee) dancing to insipid songs. I'm sure some people liked watching a movie detailing a man's gutlessness( My gal did ), but it sure worked like a soporofic in my case. A near-total waste of time and money is my verdict( but the lady would not agree and so... does it matter? ).

This summer, so far the movies were utterly hopeless. planning to watch fool and final. Hope I don't go there and finally become a fool.

Have been busy trying to make the blog look good. I've taken pains to delve into something that just isn't my cup of tea: Java ( pardon the pun please! ). Well, I got a counter, a few links, videos and more coming soon. I wonder what I'm missing out on.
Was watching Jay Leno the other day. The man had some real awesome comments to make on Paris "Jailbird" Hilton. Heard that Ms. Hilton was preparing for her jail stint and that the sentence was messing her reputation ( huh ?) up. Leno says that if Nicole "Anorexic" Richie were to visit her in jail, she could easily turn sideways and walk in between the freakin bars. Hmm... theres a thought.
My bud, Tush noticed this hoarding outside the RTO. Layin an extra layer on the "wear your seatbelt" drive, the picture had a guy sitting in front of his computer on a regular chair.... but with a seat belt on. Now.... wtf was that all about? Were they having a office chair drag race. Well, talk about laying the rubber on this one.
It was Tushar's birthday yesterday and we had this small get-together. The discussions started to get intense as people started to get high. They had a heated argument on Mukesh Ambani's net worth. Would you believe it? Who the fuck cares? A guy called Avinash argued like his life depended on it and was even quoting figures and articles from google. Yeah right! Like thats the shit we'd like to hear when we get high. Then, the topic drifted to a war between Marwadi VS ( Sindhi + Panjabi ). Talk about a lame-brained argument. The guys did put forth some decent arguments; maybe not all software guys are dopes. Who knows? I aint one. \
Talking about Panjabis, heard this real nice one. Apparently, all the regular panjus ( up north ) have this lungi like thing they wear at the bottom. Apparently, heres how the panjabi would tell the temperature. If the temperature is about 15C, then the lungi would be till the ankles. At about 30C, it would be up to the ankles; at 45C, it gets dangerously close to terminal point ( watever ). Then someone asks, " praaji, what happens when it gets to 50C?". So, pat came the reply, " In case it gets to 50C, we just broadcast, " Aaaj Punjabi dekhna mana hai ".
Punjabi jokes have their own flavor eh? Someone please remind me not to ever say that.

How to go vroom......

Was busy deciding which bike to buy. My criteria initially atleast was to go in for a 150 cc bike. That sounded like a good trade-off between power and mileage. But then, my gaze fell upon the Pulsar 180cc. That bike rocks in practically every aspect. Convinced a bud of mine to let me take this monster for a ride. Ok, not really a monster or anything, but definitely a devil of a ride.
This bike has a real good feel to it. The ride quality is good and does not vibrate even at speeds of over 100 kmph. The tyres however are not really meant for those high speeds. The brakes remain as good as the ones in the older versions of the Pulsar.
The pick-up has improved and is definitely better than its arch-competitor, the HH Karizma. However, at speeds beyond 80 kmph, the Karizma outdoes the Pulsar. In city roads, who cares. The initial burst of speed matters and thats what the Pulsar delivers. The looks of this bike are absolutely killer and befitting of India's first power bike. Definitely male.
The gear shift on the Pulsar still has lot to be desired. This could result in a change in the gear plates over time. There is also the issue of the chain coming loose. Better figure out how to fix that yourself. Of course, the service at the under-staffed Bajaj service centers could be another irritant. NEVER leave your bike there for them to repair or service. Stay with them, or better yet, fix an appoinment.
All in all, I find the Bajaj Pulsar 180 cc a real winner. If the flow of chi is right and if all my stars are where they ought to be, this baby will be my ride in a a few weeks. Amen t'that.

Ya never know....

Yo people! The name's Aj.
I never would have imagined that I'd ever blog. Heck, I would have laughed my butt off if I had known that I'd have so much to yak that I'd have to start broadcasting it to protect my sanity.
Nows when I sit and figure out what I'd blog about.
Let my first post be about me. After that I'll start putting my other thoughts out to pasture. I work at Dell. That is not short for Deloitte and don't you ever say that. I work for the tech support. That includes spoon-feeding, ego-pampering and occasionally, solving some genuine technical problems. I troubleshoot for the americans. No offence to them- but they sure can be a pain in anyone's butt.
Besides Dell, I freak on video games (still do). Theres something unique about the adrenaline rush you get while gaming. Feels pretty good to be doing things that would normally not be possible. While outdoor games aren't a luxury I can afford to indulge in, I had a lot of fun playing basketball, football and badminton. I listen to a lot of music and watch a lot of movies.
Allright then, enough about me. Lets talk about what I think.
